Student Passport Project: The WCNHCP has a State Implementation Grant (SIP) that is funding a pilot project to create a database of student records. This database will allow both colleges and clinical facilities to see if students have met the requirements for clinical education.
The records will only have to be submitted to the colleges once and will be accepted by all clinical facilities. The Student Passport Project is being piloted by UW, Laramie County Community College, Ivinson Memorial Hospital, and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. After the pilot project the database will be project will be rolled out around the state.
Preceptor Training: Part of the SIP grant is the creation of a preceptor training that can be used by all nurses that precept students in Wyoming. This training will be offered online and available to anyone who wants to use the training. All of the training won’t have to be done at once but can be done in parts as needed. Warehouse 21, an advertising agency in Cheyenne, is helping with the development of the website to make the training as entertaining as it is informative
