ReNEW Update

Many nurses from various backgrounds have been working hard over the past 4 1/2 years to come up with a new curriculum.  This curriculum is different in that it isn’t an ADN degree with 2 additional years to get a BSN, but is a BSN curriculum from start to finish.

This new curriculum will allow students an ease of transfer from any Wyoming community college to UW with only one more year of college courses to obtain a BSN.  Students will take there final year at UW through outreach classes and they will be able to stay in the community of there choosing and not have to come to Laramie.

This work has not only been on the curriculum, but has included clinical education, professional development, financial aid personnel, and advisors.  All aspects of nursing education have been taken into account.  It is not enough to just change the curriculum but a total overhaul of how we look at nursing education from the first day of classes to graduating with a Bachelor’s degree.
