The WCNHCP is dedicated to data driven workforce planning for the State of Wyoming. As part of that goal, the Wyoming Workforce Development Council funded the WCNHCP in 2013 to conduct a survey of nurses across the State of Wyoming to better understand the educational background and mobility of RNs. The survey was conducted in partnership with the Department of Workforce Services Research & Planning Office, the Wyoming State Board of Nursing, and Wyoming Survey & Analysis Center at the University of Wyoming. Initial results from the Research & Planning office have been released and are available at the following: http://wynursing.wpengine.com/assets/Nursing-Workforce-report-final.pdf. This report focuses on the impact of motivation and job satisfaction on nurses’ decisions to return to school. Of interest, is the role that employer support (or lack thereof) plays in nurses returning to school.
